July 2004
We made just one excursion beyond our immediate neighbourhood this past month. After school closed on the 23rd of July, Kassie and I managed a day-trip or two to nearby sites: to the Palms Tropical Oasis at Stapeley Water Gardens and to the annual Nantwich Fair.
The three of us visited Kedleston Hall in Derbyshire, an impressive example of the revival of classical taste popular in the 18th century. The gardens, particularly the rose garden, pictured at left, and the 13th-century Church are well worth a visit.
