Warwick Castle

On the request of friends visiting from Canada, we drove down to the Warwick-Kenilworth area (just north of Stratford-upon-Avon) to check out England's finest (reputed) medieval castle. Apparently we were not the only ones – half the country seemed to have had the same idea.

Lyme Park

Also in July, we took advantage of the warm temperatures and drove about an hour's distance NE to Lyme Park which is smack dab in the middle of Stockport. It was well worth the visit, particularly the walk in the gardens and across the deer park to the Cage.
